Although the divorce rate has decreased steadily in Oklahoma since the 90s, divorce has become the norm in this country and that’s ok. It’s important kids never feel alone in their struggles. Sometimes in a custody battle or divorce, the kid is left paying the toll of the parents problems. It can be a very rough adjustment for a child to all of the sudden have their reality cut in half and it is only makes it worse when the parents use the child as leverage. Parent’s, understandably during a divorce, are going to have communication issues. It should never be the child’s job to serve as the middleman, delivering messages and passing along passive aggression.
