Honoring Ruby Farish

photo 1It is with sadness that we let you know that Ruby Farish passed away this week.

Ruby was one of the founders of The Parent Child Center of Tulsa in the early 1970’s and we honor her memory.  Ruby was a lovely and gracious person who cared so much about children at risk for abuse and neglect and their parents.  She looked at a tragic   problem in our community and said, “I could do something about that.”  And she did.  She helped launched a chapter of Parents Anonymous in Tulsa, Oklahoma which grew into The Parent Child Center.  For over 40 years, these services have continued to help thousands of parents find hope and learn skills to break the cycle of abuse and neglect.

We send our thoughts and prayers to Ruby’s family and friends. All of us at The Parent Child Center will miss her dearly and remember her fondly.  When we look at her picture which hangs in our building, we will be reminded of and grateful for how the vision and compassion of one woman has touched so many lives.

Services are Monday, March 3, at Boston Avenue United Methodist Church, at 3:00 p.m.

Condolences may be sent to her family c/o her Kent and Leah Farish at 2834 East 26th St., Tulsa OK 74114.
