The Parent Child Center of Tulsa is
honored to have received national accreditation, a process which has
measured, validated and strengthened our organizational effectiveness.
We have spent the past 18 months
focusing on our unique mission, resources and culture, as well as on the
unique needs and aspirations of the people we serve.
I am very proud of the staff of The Parent Child Center who work every day
to deliver high quality services. They are dedicated to helping children
and parents find hope and learn skills to prevent and end child abuse and
neglect. Achieving national accreditation required hundreds of hours for
our agency’s self study and site visit preparation, above and beyond daily
priorities. Because of the staff’s professionalism and commitment, client
services were not in any way diminished during this process.
We appreciate the many stakeholders who completed surveys and participated
in focus groups, including members of the Board of Directors and the
Advisory Board, community leaders, foundations and other grantors,
clients, volunteers and staff.
We are especially grateful to three community partners who have long
supported this mission to prevent child abuse and neglect: The Grace and
Franklin Bernsen Foundation, the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family
Foundation, and the H.A. and Mary K. Chapman Charitable Trust. We could
not have accomplished this milestone without their support.
We anticipate that The Parent Child Center’s reputation will continue to
grow and we believe that this national accreditation will create new
opportunities for funding and partnerships from across the country.
